Looking Ahead -- Kansas Assessments
As we enter April, teachers and students are preparing for the Kansas State Assessments. Once your child’s assessment approaches you will receive additional information from the school and teachers. In the meantime, here are some ideas of what you can do to help your child prepare for the assessments.
Try not to put too much pressure on the student. Reinforce that as long as they worked hard in preparation and did their absolute best you will be proud of them.
Keep a positive attitude about testing in general around your child and emphasize their ability to demonstrate what they have learned rather than the consequences of not passing.
Make sure your child gets an ample, normal amount of sleep the night before the test.
Your child should eat a nutritious and filling breakfast.
Make sure your child is on time each day of testing.
