Each quarter, South Brown County Schools looks for the "Best of the Best" to honor! More specifically, one student and one staff member that have shown innovation, leadership, and overall commitment to education. After gathering nominations, a very difficult choice is made and we honor those individuals at a USD 430 Board of Education meeting.
For the first quarter of 2023-24, we have two very deserving ladies to honor.
First up, Desiree Madere. Des is a Senior at Horton High School, with aspirations to become an educator herself!
"Desiree is active in multiple clubs and school activities. She is a great role model for other students because she always has a positive attitude toward everyone and always goes above and beyond expectations. She is a straight-A student and has managed to maintain a 4.0 since her freshman year. Desiree is always a nice and friendly face to see whether she is working the concession stand or working down in the library alongside Mrs. Hayden. She is a great friend and an overall great person."
Our staff "Best of the Best" honoree is Robin Gilbert. Robin works for the Interlocal, and is based in Horton Elementary. She is a Speech and Language Pathologist, working with our elementary students.
"Robin is always so patient and kind, she is very good with my child in helping him grow and develop his speech! So thankful for her!"
South Brown County Schools is happy to honor these two "Best of the Best" recipients. Congratulations ladies!
