Horton High School - August 14, 2024
Welcome Back!
Dear Parents, Students and Community Members,
Welcome to the new school year at Horton High School! I hope your summer was filled with relaxation and joy. We are excited to start this year together, with our team ready to provide an excellent educational experience for all students.
I’m pleased to introduce new members of our Horton High School family:
Reid Greaser: Our new Activities Director and Health/PE teacher, who will make a positive impact both in the classroom and through extracurricular activities.
Zach Barnum: Our new Government/Civics teacher.
Tatum Lockwood: Our Vocational Agriculture Instructor.
Chasity Arnold: Office Para Secretary, who will provide essential support in the front office.
Kay Mills: Teaching Anatomy and Physiology, bringing her passion for science to our students.
Sheryl Smith: Leading online classes, offering flexible learning opportunities.
Courtney Waggoner: Our JOM (Johnson O'Malley) coordinator, focusing on supporting our Native American students.
Cheryl Wichman: Joining us as a paraprofessional to help students reach their full potential.
Barb Slocum: Library Paraprofessional
We are also expanding our involvement with the CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies) program, offering students hands-on experiences in various fields. This program partners with local businesses to bridge the gap between high school and future careers, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and professional skills.
We are committed to challenging our students with rigorous coursework, hands-on learning, and a wide range of extracurricular activities. We are grateful for the continued support of our community. Your involvement—whether attending events, volunteering, or communicating with our staff—plays a crucial role in the success of our students.
As we welcome students back, please remember our doors are always open. Feel free to reach out with any questions, concerns, or ideas. Together, we can make this year a memorable and successful one. Freshmen and new students will report tomorrow, August 15, at 7:55 a.m. in the HS Commons. All 9th - 12th grade students will be in school on Friday, August 16, at 7:55 a.m. in the HS Commons.
#ChargeOn!
