Are you a local senior in Horton, Kansas? The class of 2026 has chosen to help with yardwork for local people that may not have the means and energy to do so themself! If you or someone you know could use this help, please be sure to call the high school or email student Cooper Strube with the information listed on this flier! We will be completing this task on April 28th, 2023 as part of our annual community service day!
The Horton High School Concert Band was fortunate to have Mr. Ed Bartley, KMEA Hall of Fame educator and KSHSAA adjudicator, work with them today on the pieces they are preparing for the upcoming KSHSAA State Large Ensemble Festival. Ed gave much insight into the interpretation and performance of the two works. His help and knowledge are greatly appreciated!

It is Paraprofessional Day!
In the 1960s, paraprofessionals were hired to work in schools thanks to an anti-poverty program implemented by President Lyndon B. Johnson. It is believed that the idea of honoring paraprofessionals came later when the governor of Missouri decided to celebrate the work of paraprofessionals in the education sector. Since then, Paraprofessional Appreciation Day has spread across the country!
Each and every one of our students interacts with paraprofessionals each day! Be sure to take a little time to say "THANKS!"
Mark your calendars -- Charger Cheer & Charming Charger Tryouts are coming soon! Be sure to email Mrs. Allen (allenr@usd430.org) for additional information.
HHS Baseball & Softball: Anyone traveling to Valley Falls Thursday (4-6-23) for the games please take your own chairs. We were told there are not any bleachers to sit on.
