This week is Read Across America, a week celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss and encouraging everyone to READ! Today, March 2nd is Dr. Seuss's birthday. Dr. Seuss is probably best known for his books to help children learn to read, such as One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, Green Eggs and Ham, and Hop on Pop, his cautionary tales including The Lorax, and the inspirational Oh, the Places You'll Go!
To honor Dr. Seuss, throughout the day we will be sharing information about the importance of reading.

Horton Chargers finished their season tonight with a loss to the JCN Chargers, 46 - 31. The Chargers finished their season with a 7-14 record.

It is a BEAUTIFUL day in South Brown County. So nice it called for reading Romeo and Juliet outside at HHS.
We will have a 7-12 Spring Sports Parents meeting Tuesday, March 8, in the High School Auditorium at 7:30 pm. This will be for 7-12 Track and High School Baseball, Softball and Golf.
Everest Little League Softball and Baseball (14 and under) sign up forms can be picked up in the office at EMS. If your son or daughter is interested in playing ball this summer forms need to be filled out and returned to the office by March 11

Josie Santos came and read and donated a book titled A to Z’s about K- State. And then lead the class in making their own book about Horton Elementary. The project encouraged creative writing.
Our class was nominated and chosen by a boutique for shirts for Read Across America Week! ♥️💛💚💙 The kiddos were so excited to put these on this morning! 📚
