HHS is hosting a Forensics tournament on March 21. There is a judges meeting at 3:30 to explain how to judge and to review how to judge. There will be 16 schools and 202 entries for this tournament. The team is still in need of judges. We are needing 30 judges alone for finals. If you can help, please message Ms. Bush at busha@usd430.org. The team greatly appreciates your support. By hosting, we are raising funds for us to compete, and it allows us to attend one additional tournament a year. Please support the Forensics team. We will be going to State the first weekend of May to compete.

Thank you from Charger Basketball!🏀

HES kicked off Read Across America Monday with Cat In The Hat. We celebrated by listening to Marc Pisacka's recorded reading. Collecting 100 Cat In The Hats from around the school building and using them to decorate the front doors and wearing our crazy hats!

Read Across America fun continued at HES on Tuesday with our Fox in Socks day! We enjoyed listening to Staci Hammersmith's recorded reading, decorating our own crazy socks to decorate our school with, and wearing crazy socks!

Wednesday at HES we enjoyed listening to Brent Thorson's recorded reading of Oh The Places You Will Go. Students and staff sported their favorite teams gear an made their own hot air balloons to share what they would like to be when they grow up.

We wrapped off HES's Read Across America with Vivki Stone's recorded reading of Green Eggs and Ham, a pajama day, and a school wide vote of "Would you eat Green Eggs and Ham?" Also, throughout the week students and staff have been keeping track of their reading on small strips of paper in a friendly competition with the winner getting a donut party when they return from Spring Break. Our school read a total of 1,934 books this week with 3rd grade winning the competition with 810 books!
