Reminder: Winter Sports Parent Meeting tonight in the Auditorium at 6:00pm

Congratulations to the following students for selection into NEKMEA District Honor Bands. Tori Jelks - Horn - HS Blue Band, Ellah Stirton - Horn - 9th grade band, Cydney Weinmann - Bass Clarinet - 9th grade band, Jonas Crismas - Euphonium - 9th grade band, Tiffin Lanter - Clarinet - 7/8 band, Thatcher Strube - Trumpet - 7/8 band, Carlee Paden - Bassoon - 7/8 band, and Noah Fassnacht - Oboe alternate - 7/8 band. They will perform at Seaman HS in Topeka on December 2.

Kindergarten celebrated Veterans Day on Friday, with lan and Jessica Saxton. They talked about what their responsibilities are within The United States Army. One highlight of the visit was the American flag 🇺🇸 patch that each student received. Thank you to everyone who has served and to those still actively serving to protect our country!




Let's celebrate Education in South Brown County. Today marks the kickoff for American Education Week 2023. Each day of the week has its own theme, during which we celebrate our public school community!

Join the HS Musical for a Soup Fundraiser tonight before the Musical Performance at 7:00. Soup will be served from 5:30 - 6:30. Soup fundraiser is free will donation. Come support the students and enjoy the musical!

EMS Wrestling traveled to the Silver Lake Jr. High wrestling tournament. 🤼Will Allen, 8th grade, came away with 2nd place in his weight class.


Sixth graders participated in a Veterans Day escape room in English/Language Arts. Students read information about the origin of day and completed puzzles to escape.

Activity Reminders for next week Nov. 13th: **Winter Athletic Practice starts Monday, Nov 13th (Athletes must have a physical). **Winter Sports Parent Meeting Monday, Nov. 13th at 6pm, start in the Auditorium. **Winter Sports Introduction Night will be Friday, Nov. 17th at 6pm in the High School Gym.


Reminder: EMS Veterans Day assembly is at 10 am in the gym today. We are also serving breakfast in the library at 9 am. All veterans and their families are welcome.

At last night's Board of Education meeting, we had several guests to recognize.
George Bruning, Everest Christian Church, came to present each building principal with a donation from the congregation. Each principal received $500, the money will be used for student needs.
Cooper Wischropp, HHS Senior, was recognized for his accomplishments during the 2023 Cross Country season which included a trip to 2A State Cross Country.
Ashtyn Keo and Sammie Smith, HHS Seniors, spoke to the board about NASA and the activities they have participated in this year!




Stingers up! HHS had Admissions Counselor, Rachel Grey, from Emporia visit during lunch today to answer any questions for prospective students in terms of college visits, the application process, scholarship opportunities, and more. Senior Cooper Wischropp was excited to learn more information as he will be a Hornet next year and is pictured with alumni Kertis Keehn!
