It's Senior Night in the Charger Gym!


Congratulations the the EMS varsity girls basketball team that defeated ACCMS 39-5 tonight.

EMS and HHS students attended an assembly with former Haskell Indian Nations University assistant basketball coach and speaker, Elwood Ott, on Wednesday, October 11. The assembly was sponsored by the Johnson O’Malley Program (JOM).
Elwood Ott is an enrolled tribal member of the Otoe-Missouria Nation. Mr. Ott attended Haskell Indian Nation University in Lawrence, KS, where he received a bachelor’s degree in American Indian Studies. He brings a robust set of skills, knowledge, and passion in advocating for Native youth. In particular, he strives to encourage and support the health and wellness of Native youth through healthy eating, nutritional education and physical fitness.
Mr. Ott shared his story of perseverance and the importance that education plays in a young person’s life. He encouraged students to realize that they are part of a community and that all students should play a role in helping and receiving help when needed.

EMS Wrestling practice begins tonight after school. There will be a Wrestling Parents meeting on Tuesday October 17 at 5:30 in the wrestling room. There will be a HS (home) volleyball in the gym. The (west) wrestling room door between the gym and the high school will be open.

This week is School Bus Safety Week! We kick off the week with by thanking our Bus Drivers and Transportation Director. These men and women make sure that our children make it to and from school and activities safely each and every day.


EMS girl's basketball team will begin their season tonight Monday, October 16, in Effingham. B team followed by A team starting at 4:30. Good luck lady Chargers!
