
EMS Track athletes are sheltering in place at EMS. We will wait until the weather clears to load the bus and travel to Horton. If you wish to pick up your child, you can do so.

USD 430 will be holding a Retirement Reception for our retirees.


EMS students toured the Highland Community College campus at Atchison today to learn about the various programs available for high school juniors and seniors to participate in.







HES Field Days 12:20-2:50 pm at the Charger Football/Track Field.
Tuesday: May 7, 2024- K. and 1st grade
Wednesday: May 08, 2024- 2nd, 3rd, and 4th
A letter with the information will be sent home with students on Friday May 03, 2024.
ALL Parents and grandparents are invited to attend and or help with station management.
Transportation to and from HES to the Field is provided by bus: Busses will leave school by 12:50 and arrive at the track by 12:55 and again load at 2:50 - back to school by 3:00 pm each afternoon.
Sack lunches are provided to grades participating that day and regular lunch options for those not participating and remaining at school.

It is that time of year again! As we come to the end of the school year, we look to recognize our Excellent Educators. Do you have a staff member in mind that deserves extra recognition?

HHS Baseball: Due to the potential of Rain tomorrow evening. The Baseball Game @ Oskaloosa tomorrow night has been moved up to 2:00pm in Oskaloosa (4-30-24).

EMS Track team travels to Jackson Heights today, Monday, April 29 for a 2:00pm track meet. The order of events is posted online! Good luck Chargers

Congratulations to to our students that performed on Saturday, April 27th at Southeast of Saline High School for the State 3A Solo/Small Ensemble Festival! We managed to dodge most of the severe weather and all three of these kids did AMAZING!
Sophomore Ellis Goben recieved at II (Excellent) on his Euphonium Solo.
Sophomore Victoria Jelks received a I (Outstanding) on her Horn Solo and was awarded a Gold Medal.
Senior Chandler Newman received a I (Outstanding) on his Baritone Vocal Solo and was awarded a Gold Medal.
Both Mr. Vittetoe and Mrs. Crane are incredibly proud of the work these students put in and how excellently they represented HHS! We are also so thankful for our wonderful pianist, Mrs. Thurn, for her talents and expertise as these students prepared!
