February student of the month Shawntel Pahmahmie
This student is quiet and easy going. I always see her working on school assignments. She’s a “no drama” girl. She never has anything but positive things to say about and to the staff and students. She’s always helping out in concessions during events and never complains. Sh is a responsible young adult. She’s on top of assignments, work and her car maintenance. She’s polite and respectful and works on empowering herself as well as others. She’s quiet but has a wonderful sense of humor and genuine kindness. She has goals and aspirations and she manages a full plate. She is the picture of responsibility and it's a pretty picture. She is appreciative of the staff and as well the staff appreciates her.

February Faculty of the month Marissa Blanton!
This person does so much for all of the students and has recently taken on even more being the only person working in the office. She will listen to your rants, help you solve your problems, and take care of all of the behind-the-scenes work that no one remembers. I always make her life difficult as soon as I walk in and she handles all situations like a champ, and by herself no less.

Heading to JCN for basketball tomorrow? JCN's Booster club is having a special menu! Check it out!

NASA President and Horton High School senior, Samantha Smith, introduced the Native drum and singing group, Moose Hill before they performed "The Flag Song" on Tuesday, January 30. Moose Hill is made up of members of the Kickapoo and Potawatomi tribes. The group was formed about 10 years ago to honor traditions within the Native American culture. Drum and song serve as a cherished part of the native culture and are used for many purposes, including celebration, religious, and ceremonial. Moose Hill will perform again at the February 9 home basketball game before the national anthem.
