Chargers win the final game of the season!
We want to welcome you to two community-wide send-offs coming up for State and National Competitions! -Saturday, Oct 28 @ 8:30 a.m. at the HS, we will send Cooper Wischropp as he travels to Wamego to compete in the 2A State CC Championships!
- Monday, Oct 30 @ 8:10 a.m. we will line up on the sidewalk west of the high school and the sidewalk north of the high school to send off the State Champion Horse Judging Team as they compete in Nationals in Indianapolis! #ChargeOn!
After winning the District and State title in the 2022-2023 season, the Horton FFA Horse Judging Team will set their sights on competing for a National Title November 1st and 2nd in Indianapolis at the National FFA Convention. The team members Montanna Hutchinson, Clarissa Jamvold, Rilee Brown, and Carlee Brown will be representing the State of Kansas as they judge 8 classes and give 4 sets of reasons on the 1st, followed by rigorous team activities and scenarios on the 2nd to test the students' knowledge within the horse industry. They will hear the results in an awards ceremony on Thursday night as they await with teams from over 47 other states and Puerto Rico. This is one of the few times in the history of the chapter of winning the state competition and going to compete at the national level.

Junior Varsity Scholar's Bowl tonight!
The sixth graders at EMS won the first quarter reading challenge. They celebrated by having a "nacho" average readers' party. Nacho and drinks were served, and prizes were given away.
EMS Girl's basketball team has a (home) game tonight, Monday October 23 vs Oskaloosa. Games start at 4:30 (B followed by 1/2 C- then A) Good Luck Lady Chargers!
Beginning tonight, October 23, the weight room at the high school will be open to any 7th or 8th grade student wanting to get stronger and better shape. The weight training session will be from 3:45-4:30. Getting Better Every Day!!
