Welcome to Leader in Me. Each new year brings opportunities for academic growth and growth in all areas of development. Although children must be knowledgeable when they graduate, they must also be healthy, engaged, responsible, and caring people.
HES has chosen to implement Leader in Me (LIM) for our Social Emotional Learning curriculum (SEL). Leader in Me is an evidence based, comprehensive school-improvement model that empowers students with the leadership and life skills they need to thrive in a global community.
LIM is all about empowering your child to reach their full potential while ultimately finding their voice. As each child discovers their unique gifts and talents, they are given opportunities to lead. As leaders, they become active, engaged partners in their own education, and their self-confidence, responsibility, and initiative grows.
As the school year unfolds, the students are learning the language and meaning of the 7 Habits. During Parent Teacher Conferences your child/children's teacher will be providing you with more information about the 7 Habits and how they plan to implement the curriculum in their classroom.
*For our SEL curriculum, we have a survey that will need to be taken by our HES parents, staff and students (4th-grade students only). HES parents, your child/children's teacher will provide more information about this survey during your scheduled Parent Teacher Conference time. Parents there is a paper version to complete this survey if preferred (it will be provided during PTC's) or if you prefer to complete the survey online, click on the link provided below.
There is a survey for the 4th-grade students to complete. Parents you will need to sign a permission form opting your child to take the survey. The permission form will be provided during your conference time. I have attached the link to the survey questions for you
to review prior completing the permission form.
We are asking our HES parents, staff and students to complete this survey to help measure progress since implementing Leader in Me.
